We were children of the night
Till our King appeared
He has brought us to the light

We were slaves but now are free

Greater love has none than this
To lay down his life
Christ stepped down from heaven’s bliss
Made the sacrifice
Broken, beaten, He was bruised
On a cross for thieves of men
Highest love was proved

No good thing does He withhold

Giving life to young and old
Father’s will be done
Chosen, beloved, we can rest
Now as heirs of the Most High
We are ever blessed

We are children of the King
Branches of the Vine
Humbled hearts of praise we bring
In our joy divine
Glory, honor may we give
